On behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, a new joint federal project on environmental improvement of water bodies is being developed. The new project will affect all major rivers and reservoirs of the country. As is known, the main problems are wastewater pollution and degradation of water bodies, deterioration of the fisheries situation, wear of existing hydraulic structures, limited resources in water-deficient regions.
